About Us

Charles Taylor Woodwork is a dedicated specialist manufacturing company based in Dalkeith, just south of Edinburgh. In our field, we are one of the best resourced in Scotland. The business was founded in 1985 to provide a complete service for customers who appreciate fine craftsmanship. We have a long tradition of absolute commitment to quality throughout our entire design, manufacture and implementation phases. Our fully equipped workshop has full production and finishing capabilities.

I studied Furniture Design in London and established my business at the age of 21. The business operated from Craigmillar for 8 years and then, with steady expansion, from the wonderful West Church Dalkeith for 29 years. As part of achieving a better work life balance, I have reduced the scale of the business and now operate from a very well equipped workshop at Hardengreen, Eskbank.

As a result of my training in design and the history of historic buildings as well as many years of practical experience of specifying and delivering architectural joinery, I have the skills to deliver almost any complex project in wood.
